This Memorial Square was sent to us from Cynthia in California on behalf of her close friend Brenda, the daughter of Betty and sister to Eric, both who were lost to COVID-19. Betty had no trouble finding her voice. She loved to sing. As an instructional aide at Lincoln Elementary School in Paramount, where she worked for 25 years. She joined a singing group called Abe’s Babes and she loved to hula and play the ukulele, an homage to her Hawaiian heritage. One day she wasn’t feeling well, and 8 days later she died of complications of the virus.
Betty and Eric’s two Memorial Squares have been placed next to each other on the Covid Memorial Quilt.
