This Memorial Square comes to us from Alyson in New York to honor Blanca Gomez West, a beloved preschool teacher at Sara Curry Preschool. Blanca showered every family she met with bubbly, infectious joy. When word spread on April 7th that she and the husband she adored had died of COVID-19, it broke the East Village of New York City. Blanca’s hugs were legendary, her smile sunshine. Her laughter still echoes from the chained and empty playgrounds where she used to lead the 2-4 year olds to play every game under the sun. Our children were too young to remember her well, but the parents will never forget.
